We automatically collect minimal technical data for service operation and improvement.

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the newsagent.fyi service
• Sync your feeds and reading progress across devices
• Send account-related emails (verification, password reset)
• Improve the service based on usage patterns
• Respond to support requests

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. We use:

• Supabase for database hosting (PostgreSQL with row-level security)
• Vercel for application hosting
• Fly.io for background worker processes

All data is stored in secure, managed infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

• Stripe - Payment processing (if applicable). We do not store your payment card details; Stripe handles all payment information securely.
• Supabase - Database and authentication infrastructure.
• Plausible Analytics - Privacy-respecting website analytics. Plausible does not use cookies and does not collect personal data. All data is aggregated and anonymous.
• Sentry - Error monitoring to help us identify and fix bugs. Error reports may include technical information about your session.
• Resend - Transactional email delivery for account-related emails.

5. Cookies

We use minimal cookies essential for the service:

• Authentication cookies to keep you logged in
• Preference cookies for settings like theme

We do not use tracking cookies. Our analytics provider (Plausible) is cookie-free and privacy-respecting.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Feed items are retained based on your subscription settings. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where required by law.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Export your data (OPML export for feeds)
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and associated data
• Object to processing of your data

8. Children's Privacy

newsagent.fyi is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or through the service. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when this policy was last revised.
